Screen Development - Fiction
We’ve refreshed our fiction guidelines! This program area, along with games investment and (documentary) factual development will now be known collectively as the Screen Development program. Here’s a summary of what’s changed for fiction.
Names changes:
- Fiction Feature Film has changed to Fiction Features
- Fiction Feature Film - Final Stage Development has changed to Market Ready Features
- Television Co-Funded has been changed to Co-Funded Television
Funding increases:
We’ve changed the maximum amount of funding writers and producers are able to apply for.
- Treatment to Draft now $50,000 (previously $42,500)
- Draft to Draft (writer) now $40,000 (previously $38,000)
- Draft to Draft (producer) now $50,000 (previously $43,000)
- Outline to Treatment remains at $16,000.
Highly credited practitioners
Highly credited practitioners with new projects will now be able to apply to funding rounds previously reserved for applicants seeking repeat funding or with market attachment. This allows highly credited practitioners working on time-sensitive projects, or juggling several projects on a slate, to have more flexibility in accessing funding.
Indigenous content
Applicants with projects containing Indigenous content must now engage in appropriate consultation with Indigenous communities and advisors.
