Grand Prix prize for MURUNDAK - SONGS OF FREEDOM

Congratulations to Daybreak Films and all the team behind MURUNDAK - SONGS OF FREEDOM on picking up the Grand Prix prize at the Pacific International Documentary Festival in Tahiti, FIFO 9.

Supported through our Production Investment funding, MURUNDAK follows the Black Arm Band, a lineup of Australia's finest Aboriginal musicians, as they take to the wide roads with their songs of struggle, resistance and freedom. It's a vibrant and uplifting journey into the heart of Aboriginal resistance music featuring the anthemic songs of protest performed by a gathering of Australia's greatest Aboriginal musicians as they travel from the Opera House to the red desert sands of the Kimberleys and beyond.

Produced by Daybreak Films, MURUNDAK was written and directed by AFI nominated filmmakers Natasha Gadd and Rhys Graham. Check out more details on their website.
