Screen industry celebrates outstanding practitioners

We’re mighty pleased to announce the 2010 and 2011 recipients of Film Victoria's Greg Tepper and Tim Richards Awards.

Greg Tepper was renowned for his contribution to Victorian film culture before his passing in 1991, and this award in his honour recognises outstanding achievement from an emerging talent in the industry.

The 2010 Greg Tepper Award went to producer Sophie Byrne, whose beautiful animated projects include short film THE LOST THING and the various incarnations of the delightful SCARY GIRL.

The 2011 Greg Tepper Award went to writer Shaun Grant, who was supported through our New Feature Writers program for the script that became the multi-award winning and critically acclaimed SNOWTOWN.

Tim Richards, who passed away in 2008, was a games and digital content advocate who contributed enormously to this sector. The award in his name recognises practitioners for outstanding achievement within the Digital Media sector.

The 2010 Tim Richards Award went to The Voxel Agents, the innovative team behind the award-winning games TRAIN CONDUCTOR AND TRAIN CONDUCTOR 2.

And the recipient of the 2011 Tim Richards Award went to an independent developer whose games, including SUPER SEARCH and LITTLE THINGS have built an audience of more than three million - Matthew Hall, from Klick Tock.

These lovely people are a reflection of the diversity, talent and skill within the local industry and deserving winners, all!
