Since attending various theatre productions in high school Edie knew she wanted to be a Designer. The creative, collaborative nature of the industry appealed to her and she saw restrictions of time frames, budgets and personalities as a positive rather than a hindrance. In short, it was where she wanted to be.
Discovering Costume Design as her strength Edie began specialising in that area specifically working on iconic Australian titles including Stir, Violent Earth, My Mother Frank, South Solitary, Secret River, Molly and Picnic at Hanging Rock.
Edie believes that the best career moments occur with a combination of a good script, a collaborative director and actors that are happy to discuss character. Working together achieves the overall vision of the production.
Professionally Edie is influenced by the many different styles and ideas she discovers depending on where her focus is for any particular project. She credits her attitude to life and the way she goes about it to her mother who she says is the best mentor anyone could possibly have.
Edie loves the diversity of her job and continually learning new things each and every time she embarks on a project. She hopes that her knowledge and experience in the industry can be shared with others who are interested in a career in this department.
