2016 ADG Award Winners Announced

Film Victoria congratulates all the winners and nominees recognised in the 2016 Australian Directors Guild (ADG) Awards.

The prestigious Awards celebrate the outstanding work of Australian screen directors over the past year, with winners announced at the annual ceremony at Sofitel Melbourne on Friday 6 May.

Victorian practitioners and Film Victoria supported projects were well represented among the nominees, with the following talented directors and outstanding projects receiving an award:

Bentley Dean and Martin Butler won Best Direction in a Feature Film for the stunning Tanna 

Best Direction in a TV Drama Series went to Emma Freeman for her work on Glitch

Jonathan Brough took out Best Direction in a TV Comedy for Sammy J & Randy in Rickett's Lane

The ADG/ Directors Guild of America Finders Award was presented to celebrated director Sue Brooks, in recognition of her work in the Film Victoria supported feature film Looking For Grace. The Finders Award selects an Australian film which is yet to secure US distribution, to screen to key industry figures in Los Angeles and New York.
