2016 TV Week Logie Award Winners Announced

Congratulations to the Film Victoria supported projects and Victorian talent recognised at the 2016 TV Week Logie Awards.

The Awards were presented last night at a star-studded event at the Crown Palladium in Melbourne.

Victorian talent and Film Victoria supported projects were well represented among the nominees, winning a number of awards including the coveted Gold Logie, in what was an impressive year for Australian television production.

Waleed Aly took out the Gold Logie for Best Personality on Australian Television and was also awarded Best Presenter for his work on The Project.

Tim Minchin was voted Most Outstanding Supporting Actor for his role as Smasher Sullivan in ABC TV's The Secret River, which also took out Most Outstanding Mini-series or Telemovie. The Secret River was supported through Film Victoria's Assigned Production Investment (API) program.

Wentworth, also supported through API, took home an award with Celia Ireland winning Most Outstanding Supporting Actress for her role as Liz Birdsworth.

Most Outstanding Drama Series was awarded to Glitch, a six-part drama series supported through the Victorian Drama and Comedy Initiative in partnership with the ABC.

And Shaun Micallef’s Mad as Hell took out the award for Most Outstanding Comedy Program.
