First glimpse at new Stan original series Bloom
Ahead of its premiere this summer, Stan has released the first look at its new original series, Bloom.
Directed by John Curran (Tracks, Chappaquiddick, Praise) the anticipated drama features an all-star cast headed by Australian, Oscar-nominee Jacki Weaver (Silver Linings Playbook, Animal Kingdom) alongside Bryan Brown (The Light Between Oceans, Sweet Country), Phoebe Tonkin (The Originals, Safe Harbour, The Affair), Ryan Corr (Holding the Man, Hacksaw Ridge), Daniel Henshall (Okja, The Babadook, Snowtown) and Sam Reid (’71, Prime Suspect 1973, The Railway Man).
With support from Film Victoria and filmed across the state, the mysterious drama centres on an idyllic country town one year after a devastating flood kills five locals, and a mysterious new plant appears with the power to restore their youth.
The six-part series will screen exclusively on Stan this summer, joining its growing slate of fresh and diverse productions.
Bloom is a Playmaker production for Stan with principal production investment from Screen Australia, in association with Stan and financed with support from Film Victoria’s Assigned Production Investment Film and TV program and Regional Location Assistance Fund.
