Events  22 Feb 2017

Film Victoria has partnered with AIDC to present VR Plus - a brand new addition to the 2017 program.

Taking place on 5 March, VR Plus will explore the intersection of documentary and factual media with the expanding engagement opportunities of VR (virtual reality), AR (augmented reality) and gaming.

Comprising three informative sessions and a networking event, the VR Plus day includes:

Revolution or Evolution? US-based VR/AR designer, filmmaker and founder of iNK Stories, Navid Khonsari considers how immersive technologies are revolutionising the documentary landscape, using his acclaimed docu-game about the Iranian revolution – 1979: Revolution – as a case study.

Immersed in the story - Navid Khonsari, Lynette Walworth (VR artist, known for work Collisions) and Oscar Raby (Co-Founder of Melbourne factual VR studio VRTOV) discuss the vital importance of story in developing a truly engaging VR experience.

Northern Exposure - How Local AR/VR Producers Can Enter the Global Market - VRTOV Co-Founder Katy Morrison (Easter Rising: Voice of a Rebel) and filmmaker Melanie Horkan (My Enemy, My Brother) reveal the ins and outs of doing business in the international VR/AR landscape.

VR Plus also incorporates a networking opportunity to meet and mingle IRL with speakers and documentary VR peers. For more information visit AIDC
