Other People's Problems

The Australian drama comedy series Other People's Problems directed by Erin White, written by Penelope Chai and Jane Dickenson and produced by Charlotte Seymour, will have its international premiere at Drama Series Days, as part of the 2018 Berlin International Film Festival.

The webseries created for ABC iview (5 x 7 minute episodes) showcases a powerhouse of Australian female creative talent. Alongside Charlotte, Erin, Penelope and Jane were a talented crew consisting of 65% women.  The series was also Exec Produced by Sue Maslin (The Dressmaker).

Picnic at Hanging Rock

The TV adaptation of Foxtel's Picnic at Hanging Rock will open the Berlinale Series at the 2018 Berlin Film Festival next month. Produced by FremantleMedia Australia, with investment from Screen Australia and Film Victoria, Picnic at Hanging Rock is only the second Australian drama to be shown at the Berlin Film Festival.

Starring British actress Natalie Dormer and Australians Lily Sullivan, Samara Weaving, Madeleine Madden and Ruby Rees, the drama has already been picked up by Amazon US, BBC, Canal + in France and SKY New Zealand.

Gurrumul

The life of the late Indigenous musician Geoffrey Gurrumul Yunupingu will have its first international screening at the 2018 Berlin film festival. The announcement coincides with Madman Entertainment’s release of the first trailer for the highly anticipated documentary which celebrates the iconic and multi award-winning Australian artist. Directed by Paul Williams and produced by Shannon Swan, Gurrumul was supported through Film Victoria's Assigned Production Investment program. 

Gurrumul will screen at the Haus der Berliner Festspiele in Berlin on 19 February. The feature will have its general release in Australian cinemas nationally from 26 April.
