Game on: The Warriors hits screens this season

  5 Apr 2017

The milestone Australian production The Warriors  explores the elite world of professional sport through the eyes of new recruits – plucked from obscurity to fame and fortune.

Created by Robert Connolly and Tony Briggs, written by Jon Bell, Tony Briggs and Tracey Rigney, the series showcases Australia's finest Indigenous talent including 18 year old newcomer Gordan Churchill who relocated from the Kimberley Region to film the series.

Film Victoria’s Professional Attachment Scheme supported seven placement opportunities aimed at developing the next generation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander screen professionals. The project also received investment support through Film Victoria’s Assigned Production Investment program.

The Warriors is produced by Arenamedia with the assistance of Screen Australia and the ABC. It premieres on ABC and ABC iview on 12 April 2017.

Minister for Creative Industries, Martin Foley visited The Warriors set during filming in 2016 and joined cast and crew for the world premiere at ACMI on 7 April.
