On Friday 20 July, Film Victoria and ACMI presented the Series Mania Melbourne ‘Stories Without Borders’ Industry Day.
Over 290 screen industry professionals attended the full day program – almost double the number of attendees for its inaugural run in 2017.
Over 10 sessions, 18 speakers provided their insight and advice across various topics including intelligence on new and developing global trends, current and future slates for broadcasters and personal experiences of key creatives across showrunning, producing, writing and directing.
Scripted Ink, ACMI and Film Victoria presented an In Conversation with BAFTA and Emmy nominated screenwriter David Nicholls and festival special guest Hugo Weaving. Sponsored by BBC First the pair shared their experience of being part of the new TV series Patrick Melrose which screened at this year's Series Mania Melbourne event.
