The Indian Film Festival of Melbourne begins
Presented by Film Victoria, IFFM will explore the theme of diversity and deliver a program of more than 60 films from 20 unique language groups.
The Festival kicked off last night with the opening night screening of Lipstick Under My Burkha with director Alankritha Sirivastava and star Konkona Sen Sharma in attendance for its Australian premiere.
Festival fans are also in for a treat with special guest and celebrated international icon, actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in Melbourne for the festival, including the Flag Raising ceremony at Federation Square on 12 August. The occasion will celebrate India’s 70th Independence Day Anniversary and include the Telstra Bollywood Dance Competition. IFFM runs from 10-22 August.
