Victoria shines at 2018 Australian Game Developer Awards
Congratulations to all winners of the 2018 Australian Game Developer Awards announced during Melbourne International Games Week.
Presented by the Game Developers Association of Australia (GDAA) as part of the Games Connect Asia Pacific conference, the Awards celebrate outstanding games and achievements by game developers across Australia, and are a key event at Games Week. This year saw another stellar line up of projects, people and teams.
Taking home the prize of the night, the Game of the Year award, was Film Victoria-supported project The Gardens Between by Voxel Agents – a surreal puzzle adventure that follows best friends, Arina and Frendt, as they fall into a mysterious world of beautiful garden islands.
Paper House’s Paperbark, which was also supported by Film Victoria, won an unnamed prize, while the Adam Lancman Award for community recognition went to Women in Games fellow Giselle Rosman.
Victorian projects Earthlight by Opaque, Florence by Mountains and That Boy Is A Monstr by Sav Ferguson were also among the winners, along with Victorian developer Liam Esler who was awarded the Victorian Industry Champion Award.
Congratulations also goes to the rest of the winners across Australia, including Team Cherry who won the prestigious Studio of the Year award:
