Manager, Office of the CEO
  • Full time position
  • New role

Reporting directly to the CEO, the Manager - Office of the CEO will oversee the efficient management of all CEO office operations, administration, projects, initiatives and communications.  The position serves as the primary point of contact for internal and external constituencies on all matters relating to the office, these include government and industry relations. 

Working closely with the Manager, Strategy and Government this position plays a key role in embedding organisational strategies into the day-to-day operations of Film Victoria including supporting the Board, Executive Managers and Unit Managers through the strategic planning process, its delivery, performance monitoring and analysis and engaging with all staff.

This role is also responsible for Board related planning and administration.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Significant experience managing the Office of a CEO including prioritising and responding to competing and often ambiguous demands while proactively and comprehensively co-ordinating CEO daily activity
  • Experience organising all aspects of travel including itineraries, accommodation, appointments, approvals, and related documentation
  • Exceptional communication skills and the ability to apply these to all correspondence and interactions.  Experience drafting responses and preparing reports and papers will be essential
  • Demonstrated ability to provide support to development of corporate and ancillary strategies including providing assistance in developing, evaluating and building business cases and garnering support for projects and initiatives
  • Experience managing a cross functional Conditions Monitoring System to support the ongoing review of changing conditions and how they might impact organisational strategies
  • Previous experience in providing high level administrative support consistent with Corporate Governance to a Board
  • Tact, discretion and emotional awareness
  • Analytical skills and experience working under pressure across a broad range of activities

Information Management and Technology Systems Analyst
  • One year full time fixed-term position 

The position of IMT Systems Analyst has end to end responsibilities for our information needs by supporting the ongoing use and development of the contact and contract management system, records management and HR systems.  The position analyses business processes to identify and project manage potential improvements. 

The ideal candidate will be highly motivated and will have:

  • Extensive experience using and supporting systems including MS SQL and SSRS, Microsoft Dynamics CRM.  Experience with HPE Records Manager, Servers, Virtualisation and Cloud Systems will be highly regarded
  • Experience working within a small team to deliver projects and manage resources efficiently
  • Exceptional problem solving ability with the ability to proactively use business analytics and input from users to identify both business system and process improvements
  • Significant experience as a systems administrator having delivered training, assistance, advice and user documentation to all end users
  • Demonstrated high-level communication, influencing and negotiation skills including the ability to translate technical language to non-technical stakeholders
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to build and foster collaborative relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders
  • Experience managing multiple demands and working to tight deadlines
  • Demonstrated project management experience

Head of Marketing and Screen Production Attraction

 As a member of the Film Victoria Executive Leadership team, the Head of Marketing and Screen Production Attraction will work closely with the CEO to develop strategic initiatives and policy that delivers cultural and creative capital to the state. 

 The role is responsible for:

  • Leading and managing the strategic direction and operations of the Marketing and Screen Production Attraction division
  • Marketing and developing Victoria as a leading and competitive destination for screen production activity nationally and internationally
  • Driving initiatives that build on Victoria’s screen capability and stimulate employment and economic spend in a dynamic global screen industry
  • Developing and maintaining strong client relationships to provide outstanding customer service
  • Developing and executing communications and marketing strategies and a brand strategy which markets Victoria as a go to destination for screen production

 The ideal candidate will have:

  • Proven experience in strategic marketing including experience in formulating and delivering strategic marketing and communications activities
  • Strategic planning skills demonstrated through the development of business plans, programs and initiatives that translate strategic direction into operational activity
  • Demonstrated experience leading and managing teams to achieve performance objectives, prioritise competing demands, delegate work appropriately and manage budgets and resources
  • Experience in formulating and delivering strategic marketing and communications activities, including alignment of brand reputation concepts to activities
  • Client service delivery experience in either a business to business or Government to business environment.  Demonstrated ability to deliver exceptional outcomes and service excellence while effectively managing any associated risks
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and/or experience in the national and international screen industry
  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to clearly and confidently convey or present complex or sensitive information and ideas effectively through both verbal and written communication

Manager, Development
  •  2-year fixed-term position

 Reporting to the Head of Screen Industry Programs, the Manager, Development is responsible for the development, implementation and day-to-day management of Film Victoria’s fiction development programs. This role also oversees the delivery of Film Victoria's documentary development programs and contributes to the delivery of other screen industry programs and initiatives.

The ideal candidate must be able to identify strong, original ideas and practitioners with distinctive writing talent, as well as assess and recommend development strategies for a range of projects – including narrative feature films, and drama, comedy and children’s fiction for television or online delivery.

 The ideal candidate will have:

  • Extensive and current experience in creative development across a wide range of screen projects, and a demonstrated understanding of the fundamental principles of screenwriting for all narrative genres
  • Demonstrated experience in identifying talent and story ideas, and working with industry practitioners to develop their projects to be market ready
  • Proven ability to recommend appropriate strategies to both writers and producers which will assist them to bring their projects to the screen, whatever the platform
  • Established strong networks with industry decision makers and influencers including script consultants and producers.

Production Executive

 As a member of the Screen Industry Programs team, the Production Executive is responsible for the day-to-day management and delivery of Film Victoria’s development, production investment, and incentive programs.

 The ideal candidate will have:

  • Current experience in the creative development,  financing and production of narrative screen content with a particular strength in documentary
  • Proven ability in identifying talent and story ideas, devising strategies, and working with industry practitioners to bring their projects to the screen, whatever the platform
  • Established strong networks with industry decision makers and influencers including script consultants, producers, broadcasters, distributers, acquisitions and sales agents,  talent agents and financiers
  • Demonstrated high level communication, problem solving, organisational and analytical skills
