Work at Film Victoria
2-year fixed-term position – with potential for extension
Reporting to the Head of Screen Industry Programs, the Development Executive is responsible for the development, implementation and day-to-day management of Film Victoria's fiction development programs. The ideal candidate must be able to identify strong, original ideas and practitioners with distinctive writing talent, as well as assess and recommend development strategies for a range of projects – including narrative feature films, and drama, comedy and children's fiction for television or online delivery.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Extensive and current experience in creative development across a wide range of screen projects, and a demonstrated understanding of the fundamental principles of screenwriting for all narrative genres
- Demonstrated experience in identifying talent and story ideas, and working with industry practitioners to develop their projects to be market ready
- Proven ability to recommend appropriate strategies to both writers and producers which will assist them to bring their projects to the screen, whatever the platform
- Established strong networks with industry decision makers and influencers including script consultants and producers.
