The Festival will kick off with a screening of Love Sonia, the directorial debut of Tabrez Noorani (line producer on Slumdog Millionaire, Life of Pi and Zero Dark Thirty). Noorani, along with principal cast members Freida Pinto, Richa Chadha and Mrunal Thakur will be in attendance at the screening.
This year's Flag Raising ceremony will take place in Federation Square on 11 August, with celebrated Bollywood star Rani Mukherjee charged with hoisting the flag. The hugely popular event celebrates India’s Independence Day Anniversary and includes music performances and the Telstra Bollywood Dance Competition.
Other highlights of this year's Festival include panel discussions with key local and international creatives and decision makers, the annual Awards Night on August 12 at the Palais Theatre and for the first time, a spotlight on children's films. IFFM runs from 10-22 August. Book your tickets here.
